Looking for a summer read?

The History of Canadian Water Polo Volume 1 (1886-1929)is truly a remarkable Canadian sport story. Author David Hart a 4-time Olympian for Canada (1972, 1976, 1984 and 2000) remains one of the most prominent and influential Canadian water polo personalities in the sport’s remarkable one hundred and thirty-two-year history. Hart undertook thousands of hours of research over a three-year period to piece together the previously-unknown early history of the sport in Canada. From it’s first appearance in the St. Lawrence River at Lachine, Quebec in 1886 water polo spread, through the influence of British and Scottish immigrants, first to Montreal and then on to Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, Vancouver and Victoria in its first wave. The story unfolds year by year through newspaper reports documenting the teams, clubs, leagues and championships that formed.

Anyone interested to order a copy of the book can do so directly from the author by cheque ($30 which includes shipping) payable to David Hart, 390 Dieppe St. Vanier, Ontario K1L 6V4 or, e-transfer ($30) to: occasionalangelsrecords@yahoo.com
